Advance Notice of International Performers

Planning the international folk dance line-up for next years festival is in its earliest stages. It will be some months before it is finalised and available on the Eastbourne festival site. For those of you that cannot wait, we will be putting up some information here at the end of August as and when we are sure (may include some rumours and false alams though).

Eastbourne International Folk Dance Festival Extras

Well, there’s the genuine welcome (or, in the case of our many regular Festival-goers, the welcome back!). There are the hot and cold drinks, snacks and a friendly crew at every venue. At Bishop Bell school, our Headquarters, there’s a goodly range of really great light (and heavier!) lunches, a bar with hard and soft drinks, wine, beer (Harvey’s, who else?), cider…

It’s a non-smoking Festival. All venues are within easy walking distance. A lot of really nice, relaxed, friendly people who’ll make you welcome. A really pleasant town centre for the times when you’re away from the Festival site itself, always assuming you’re able to tear yourself away

Eastbourne International Folk Dance Festival Basics

During the day we have four workshop sessions, usually with no fewer than six different activities in each. On Friday evening there are three simultaneous dances; on Saturday and Sunday nights there are four, plus our special events. We also make it easy for you to visit the Festival. One season ticket gains you admittance to all events, although day tickets are also available. Costs invariably increase, but season ticket prices have been kept as low as we can whilst still ensuring the quality of artistes and events which the Festival is known for. It still provides a truly excellent programme, and we think the Eastbourne Festival is a very good deal indeed.

The Eastbourne International Folkdance Festival is all about dancing. To continue with this proud aim we are assembling a sparkling array of callers and musicians who have the experience and knowledge to bring out the best in you. We also like to inject something for those who have danced their socks off, so you will find a smattering of musicians’ workshops on offer, together with something more unusual… Eastbourne is above all a friendly, welcoming Festival. We look forward to seeing you there.
